Honestly, I would act like Black Widow did. Just. Freaked. Out. When she was scared of him changing, and reacting to him getting angry in the lab, it made her characterization look all the more human. That’s it. It didn’t make her look “weak”, at all.^THIS!^ Heck, even Bruce was scared of The Hulk! :)people are mad that black widow got scared when confronting the hulk

Ugh. I knew when I saw it that people would complain. Let’s stick all of them in a room with the Incredible goddamn Hulk, and see how well they hold up.
Widow is a spy. Her strengths are trickery and deception. Hulk beats up gods. Natasha kicks outrageous amounts of ass, but the Hulk is the Strongest There Is, period. He is so far above her weight class it’s not even funny, and she knows it.
A breakdown in the face of that, is not just understandable, it’s practically mandatory.

I’ve been re-reading Jen Van Meter’s JSA Classified arc, “Honor Among Thieves.” I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed this take on the Injustice Society.
The IS are different from the Secret Six. While I adore the dysfunctional dynamic that Gail Simone brought to her band of misfits, there’s something really refreshing about a supervillain team that isn’t awash in treachery and discord.
